Judith Lea Smith
/Judith Lea Smith 86, of Springville, passed away at her residence on Sunday, November 10, 2019. Born July 2, 1933 in Kokomo, she was the daughter of Mabel Merle (Clark) Ironmonger.
She was an administrative assistant at Indiana University and also worked for the Eastern-Greene Branch of the Greene County Library. She was a member of the Cincinnati Christian Church and CWF with the church. She loved farm life, counting cows and setting on the front porch. She enjoyed reading, sewing and traveling when she could get away from the farm. Her favorite thing to do was spend time with her family.
Surviving relatives include: her daughters, Jeri Mae Whaley (Don) of Springville and Jayne Lea Scott (Raymond) of Bloomfield; her grandchildren, D. Jerrod Whaley of Bloomington, J. Heath Whaley of Springville, Alysia McIntosh (Josh) of Bloomfield and Austin Scott (Sierra) of Bloomfield; great grandchildren, Nicholas Whaley, Mazie Jayne McIntosh, Joel Whaley and Ezra Jo McIntosh; and one sister, Jane Walker (Jim) of Kokomo.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph B. Smith, Jr. on February 13, 2013; two children, Little Joe and Joni Kay; siblings, Norman Ironmonger and Shirley Owens and her mother, Mabel M. Ironmonger.
Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 14, 2019 at the Cincinnati Christian Church, with Rev. Kurt Moffitt and Rev. Troy Borst officiating. Interment will follow in Dishman cemetery in rural Springville.
Public visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and 1 hour prior to services on Thursday at the Cincinnati Christian Church. Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield is in charge of arrangements.
The family asks that all memorial contributions be made to IU Health Hospice.
