Linda Louise Thacker City, 71, of Georgia, formerly of Worthington, Indiana, passed away on November 8, 2019. She was born on September 30, 1948 in Bloomington, Indiana to Lloyd James Thacker and Ruth Evelyn (Price) Thacker.

She graduated from Worthington-Jefferson High School in 1966. Linda was a devoted mother and homemaker for many years. She led the Indiana National Council on Youth Leadership, taught community parenting classes and volunteered in her children’s schools as a room mother for a combined total of 25 years. She spent many hours serving others. At the age of 56 she launched a second career as a financial planner. She was very successful, and in 2007 was one of 10 women in the United States named as a “Woman of Distinction” in her field. Linda was well known for her organizational and management skills. Her “tell it like it is” personality was loved and appreciated by all who knew her.

Linda is survived by her loving husband of 51 years Jeffrey City, as well as her children and their spouses. Ashley and Bill Rowlett, Nathan and Tisa City, Karen and Keith Martin will miss their mother’s quick wit and words of wisdom. Linda was also blessed with 8 grandchildren. Allison, Blake, Carter, Clark, Baine, Emmett, Ella, and Rhett will miss Nana’s hugs, support of their activities, and her macaroni and cheese.

Linda was preceded in death by her parents, and her step-father, Max O. Resler.

Visitation will be 11:30 AM until 1:00 PM, Thursday, November 14, 2019 at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home, 23 South Jefferson Street, Worthington, Indiana.

Funeral service will be 1:00 PM, Thursday, at the funeral home, burial will follow in Worthington Cemetery.
