Edith Bohnert, 103, of Jasonville, IN passed away at 11:40 P.M. Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at Serenity Springs in Jasonville, IN.

She was born May 27, 1921 in Sullivan County, IN to James Roscoe Secrest and Alice (Pearson) Secrest .

Survivors include her children, Judy Secrest of Jasonville, Brenda (Tony) Rash of Jasonville; daughter-in-law, Ruth Mattox of Jasonville; son-in-law, Robert Richmond of Jasonville; grandchildren, Marty (Julie) Mattox Theresa (Duane) Keller, Brent (Tna) Mattox, Debbie Copenhaver, Terri (Gary) Tannehill, Brad (Tammy) Richmond, Karen (Brian) Pilant, Cindy (Fonzie) Flowers, Danny Richmond, Linsey (Jimmy John) Yeryar; sister, Gladys Harris of Indianapolis; 32 – great grandchildren; 37- great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Jim Mattox; daughter, Noni Richmond; son-in-law, Chester Wayne Secrest; great grandson, Brooks Mattox; siblings, Walter Secrest, Herman Secrest, and Ada Talpas.

Edith worked at Keller Aluminum chair factory for 19 years until she retired, Form Fit for 3 years, and cleaned houses until 83. She loved her family and enjoyed helping other people. Her flowers brought her so much joy. She was also a member of Jasonville Church of God.

Arrangements are entrusted to Michael W. Cox, Cox Funeral Home; 218 South Meridian Street; Jasonville, Indiana. Visitation is scheduled 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. Saturday, August 10, 2024 at the Funeral Home. Services are immediately following at 1 P.M.at the Cox Funeral Home with Pastor Ron Riggs officiating.

Interment will be at K of P Cemetery in Hymera, IN.
