Donald R. Fish

Donald R. Fish, 73, of Jasonville, Indiana, passed away with family by his side, on Thursday, September 25, 2025, at Greene County General Hospital in Linton. He was born on February 11, 1952, in Linton to Asa ‘Ace’ and Deronda Fern (Johnson) Fish.

Don married his loving wife, Doris M. (Durham) Fish, on September 12, 2015.

Don graduated from Linton-Stockton High School, Class of 1970, earned a bachelor’s degree in education from ISU and then graduated from the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy, Class of #147 in 1977. He served as a police officer and assistant police chief with the Jasonville Police Department, retiring in 2008 with 35 years of service. Don was a member of the Jasonville Masonic Lodge 530 F & AM, FOP #105. For seventeen years, he volunteered as a Scout Master with the Boy Scouts and helped construct the Jasonville Boy Scout Building. Don enjoyed garage time, working with wood, watching the St. Louis Cardinals and (keeping score) and especially spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Family left to cherish the memory of Don include: his wife, Doris M. Fish; two sons, Asa Scott (Jodi) Fish of North Carolina and Andrew Jacob (Joanna) Fish of Jasonville; four grandchildren, Mikaela (Max), Justin, Samuel and Abby; two sisters, Belinda (Mike) Fonderhide and Cheryl Fish (William Creech), both of Linton.

Don was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services to honor the life of Don will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, September 29, 2025, at Anderson-Poindexter Chapel in Linton with Mark Messmer officiating. Don will be laid to rest in Fairview Cemetery in Linton.

Family and friends may call from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Sunday, September 28 with a Masonic Memorial service will be held at 7:00 PM. Viewing will continue from 9:00 AM until the time of service at 11:00 AM on Monday at the funeral home.
