Brandon Matthew Koontz

Brandon Matthew Koontz, 39, of Crane, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2026.

He was born July 18, 1986, in Washington, Indiana, to William “Billy” Koontz and Melissa (Quiller) Koontz.

Brandon was employed as a carpenter and was a proud member of Carpenters Local 301 for 20 years. He was a hardworking man who loved his children immensely—they were his world. Brandon also shared an incredibly close bond with his mother, Melissa, who was not only his mom but also his best friend who he missed and remembered every day.

Brandon enjoyed bowling and go-kart racing with his kids, playing video games with Jason, and watching his children play the sports they loved while seeing the smiles it brought to their faces. He was known for playing pranks on people and enjoyed trying new and different types of food.

He was preceded in death by his loving mother and best friend, Melissa (Quiller)Koontz; his grandfathers, Wyatt Quiller and Eddie Koontz; his uncle, Jimmy Koontz and cousin, Colton Riker.

Brandon is survived by the pride and joy of his life, his children: Jersey Koontz, Jason Koontz, and Kaedon Koontz; his father, William “Billy” Koontz; his sisters, Marcy McCue, Mara (Rene) Lerma, Mandy Koontz (Ryan Oder), and Marissa (Josh) McGuirk;; his grandmothers, Jane Quiller and Delores Koontz; several aunts, uncles five nephews, seven nieces and his cousins; and his fiancée, Tosha Deckard.

Funeral services will be conducted by Pastor Jeff Williams on Thursday, March 12, 2026 at Harvest Community Church, 1482 Harvest Church Road, Bloomfield, Indiana. Burial will follow at Dishman Cemetery.

Public visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family of Brandon Matthew Koontz to assist with final expenses.

Brandon’s greatest joy in life was being a father. His love, laughter, and the memories he created will forever live on in the hearts of his children and all who knew and loved him.
