David Kyle Wiggins, 35, Worthington, was arrested on Monday night, October 7, by Deputy Marshal Russell Walls of the Worthington Police Department.

Officer Walls was at home and off-duty that night when a juvenile went to his house around 7:45 p.m. and told Walls that Wiggins was drunk and “swinging on everybody.” Walls said he told the juvenile to call 911. According to Walls, the juvenile then said, “I thought you were 911.”

The juvenile left and did call 911 to talk to dispatch. Walls donned his uniform and notified dispatch he was on his way to the residence. He also requested another officer head to Worthington.

Walls knew Wiggins lived in a trailer located on Crist Street. When he arrived, he could hear screaming from the trailer then heard Wiggins yelling profanity, telling a woman to get out several times. Walls reported the rear door opened and he saw Wiggins grab a woman and push her through the door onto the back porch. He noted the woman was in a relationship with Wiggins and they both lived at the residence.

Walls drew his Tazer and told Wiggins to come down off the porch. Wiggins exhibited signs of intoxication as he complied and got off the porch. He later tested with a blood-alcohol concentration of .092 on a portable breathalyzer. Wiggins reportedly was not too cooperative at first but when a couple of other officers arrived on the scene, he did cooperate.

Walls reported seeing blood on the floor of the residence but the woman was not injured. The blood stemmed from an injury that occurred earlier when Wiggins punched his own truck.

Wiggins was booked into the Greene County Jail around 9 p.m. He has since posted $100 and been released on bond.

He is scheduled to appear in Greene Superior Court on Monday afternoon, October 21, for an initial hearing on a preliminary charge of domestic battery, a Class A misdemeanor.

Wiggins is registered on Indiana’s Sex and Violent Offender’s List as a result of convictions many years ago. He has served his time, but he is considered a sexually violent predator and is required to register for the rest of his life. According to the Indiana Department of Corrections, Wiggins served time for Class C and Class B felonies for sexual misconduct with a minor, and child molesting. He was convicted in August of 2004 and was released in August of 2009. According to information on the Sex and Violent Offender’s List, Wiggins currently lives on North County Road 100 West, Worthington.
