Two women arrested after throwing punches and breaking glass
/When two women got into an argument over who was next in line to get their hair done, the argument erupted into name calling and a lot of punches being thrown, a broken window and a picture knocked off the wall at a local treatment center. Both women were arrested.
Malicia Reheana Poole, 29, Shelbyville, and Miranda Kay Cyphers, 28, Indianapolis, were both arrested by Officer Wayman JR Blazier of the Linton Police Department last Saturday afternoon, July 9.
Around 2:30 PM last Saturday, Officer Blazier was dispatched to the Hickory Treatment Center for an active fight going on between two women. It all started over doing hair. When he arrived the women had been separated and he interviewed them separately.
When he talked with Cyphers, she said she got into an argument with Poole because she was supposed to do Poole’s hair next and instead was doing another woman's hair. She said when Poole raised her hand in an aggressive manner and she thought Poole was going to hit her, she hit Poole and then Poole also hit her. Cyphers allegedly said that Poole grabbed her by the hair and went into the window in the hallway, which was then broken, and she had scratches on an arm where she hit the window and the glass cut her. She said they were both calling each other names and she didn't know how many times she had hit Poole.
When he talked to Poole, she confirmed the argument was about Cyphers’ not doing her hair next, and when she confronted her about it, the screaming started.
Staff tried to separate the two but as Poole went around a corner, Cyphers called her a ‘fat b----" and that is a trigger word for Poole so she went back and hit Cyphers several times and cyphers hit Poole several times and they ended up in the glass. That wasn't the end of it according to Poole who said it started again with Cyphers pulling her hair and hitting her in the face bloodying her lip.
Staff provided video of the incident and Officer Blazer could see the yelling, the one walking away, still more yelling and then the fight starting again, breaking the window then moving down a hallway where a picture was knocked off the wall.
Greene County Sheriff's Deputy Harvey Holt was also on the scene to assist and both women were taken into custody and transported to the Greene County Jail. Poole was booked in at 3:35 PM with bond set at $1500 surety with 10% cash allowed. Cyphers was booked in at 3:43 PM with bond set at $1000 surety with 10% cash allowed.
