Driver arrested after admitting he smoked pot

A driver who crossed the center line was arrested and is facing misdemeanor charges after he allegedly admitted he'd been smoking marijuana.

Jordan Scott Enochs, 34, Linton, was arrested by Officer Janzen Franklin of the Linton Police Department on Thursday, June 29.

At 2:41 AM on Thursday, June 29,when Officer Franklin saw a white 2003 Crown Victoria cross the center line on State Road 54 near the Crane Credit Union in Linton, he initiated a traffic stop.

Enochs was the driver who allegedly admitted he had smoked marijuana. He failed standard field sobriety tests on the scene and was transported to the Linton Police Department where he failed again.

Enochs agreed to a blood draw but when he got to the hospital, he refused.

When Officer Franklin tried to take Enochs back to the police department to wait approval for a search warrant, Enochs tensed up and refused to walk on the way to Officer Franklin’s patrol vehicle. Officer Franklin had to pull Enochs out the door of the hospital.

Once the search warrant was approved Enochs was transported back to the hospital where a blood draw was obtained before he was transported to the Greene County Jail.

Enochs was booked in at 5:20 AM with bond set at $5000 surety with 10% cash allowed. He has since posted bond and been released with his initial hearing scheduled to take place yesterday afternoon.

Enochs has been charged with:

  • Operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering a person, a Class A misdemeanor,

  • Operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a Class C misdemeanor, and

  • Resisting law enforcement, knowingly or intentionally forcibly resisting, a Class A misdemeanor.
