Two arrested during traffic stop, both charged with meth possession

A man, who was a back seat passenger during a traffic stop that resulted in the arrest of the driver very early on Wednesday last week, was the back seat passenger in another traffic stop later that night. He was let go during the first stop, arrested in the second.

Aaron Edward O’Malley-Starr, 28, Bloomington, was arrested by Deputy Alan Jackson of the Greene County Sheriff’s Department late last Wednesday, June 17.

Jordan Nicole Watson, 27, homeless, was also arrested by Deputy Jackson during the same traffic stop.

Around 8:44 p.m. that Wednesday, Deputy Jackson stopped a gray 2016 Ford Fusion on State Road 54 for crossing the center line near Park Avenue and again near John Street in Bloomfield.

Thomas Bobbs was the driver, with back seat passengers O’Malley-Starr and Watson.

The driver agreed to a search of the vehicle and the deputy saw a plastic bag with a crystal substance when the passengers got out of the car. The substance field-tested positive as methamphetamine. O’Malley-Starr allegedly admitted the bag belonged to him.

During the search, Deputy Jackson found a bag where Watson had been sitting that contained syringes which field-tested positive for the presence of meth. Watson allegedly admitted that bag belonged to her.

The driver and the vehicle were released from the scene.

O’Malley-Starr and Watson were booked in to the Greene County Jail between 10:30-11:00 p.m. Both were held without bond pending court appearances.

During his initial hearing this Tuesday, June 23, O’Malley-Starr was charged with possession of methamphetamine a Level 6 felony. His bond was set at $4,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed.

During her initial hearing also on Tuesday, June 23, Watson was charged with possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony, and unlawful possession of a syringe, a Level 6 felony. Her bond was set at $10,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed.

As of late Thursday night, they had not posted bond and were still in the Greene County Jail.
