Lowell Emmons Harroll, Jr., 53, Switz City, was arrested by Sgt. Bobby Pierce of the Greene County Sheriff’s Department last Friday, April 3.

Harroll was wanted on a warrant that was issued for his arrest on March 26, connected to an incident that occurred on March 8. He was booked in before 7 p.m.

Sgt. Pierce stopped a white 1998 Nissan Pathfinder in Switz City on March 8 when he saw the Nissan traveling on Main Street shut the lights off and continue driving without lights, then turn on 4th Street. The Nissan pulled over and came to a stop in a driveway.

Sgt. Pierce reported Harroll got out of the Nissan and walked toward the patrol vehicle but was told to wait by his own vehicle. When Harroll went back to the Nissan, he allegedly reached into the front of his overalls and reached into the vehicle through the driver’s front door. Later Sgt. Pierce saw a small cloth pouch lying on the driver’s seat and suspected it had been in the overalls.

Harroll’s driver’s license was suspended and he allegedly admitted knowing that. But he didn’t admit to turning the lights off on Main Street and said he only turned them off as he approached the driveway so they didn’t wake someone inside the residence.

Harroll allegedly admitted the cloth pouch on the driver’s seat was his and contained a pipe which Sgt. Pierce reported field-tested positive for the presence of methamphetamine. So did a zip lock bag containing residue. The items were sent to an ISP lab for analysis.

GCSD Deputies Davis Aerne and Jordan Allor assisted on the scene.

Today, Monday, April 6, when Harroll appeared in Greene Superior Court for an initial hearing, he was charged with possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony, and possession of paraphernalia, a Class C misdemeanor.

His bond has been set at $20,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed. As of late today, he has not yet posted bond and is still in custody.
