Bloomington man arrested after being stopped for driving left of center
/A Bloomington man, who was stopped in the wee hours for driving left of center in eastern Greene County, was arrested for OVWI after he tested with a .12 BAC.
Jordan Riley Wever, 20, Bloomington, was arrested by Sgt. Bobby Pierce of the Greene County Sheriff’s Department early Saturday, March 28.
Sgt. Pierce stopped a gray 2008 Ford F250 around 12:30 a.m. that Saturday for allegedly driving left of the center line on State Road 43 near the Greene and Monroe county line.
Sgt. Pierce reported Wever was the driver and he exhibited several signs of intoxication then failed field sobriety tests.
Wever agreed to take a chemical test and Sgt. Pierce reported test results showed he had a BAC of .12. The legal limit is .08.
Wever was booked into the Greene County Jail around 3:30 a.m.
Wever was also wanted on an outstanding warrant issued out of Monroe County on a misdemeanor charge. Due to precautions for COVID-19, he was released by Monroe County on his own recognizance.
His bond was set at $4,500 surety with ten percent cash allowed in the Greene County case and he posted $450 and was released later the same day.
Wever is facing preliminary charges of:
Operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering a person, a Class A misdemeanor,
Operating a vehicle with an alcohol concentration equivalent to at least 08 but less than .15, a Class C misdemeanor,
Operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a Class C misdemeanor, and
Minor in possession of alcohol, a Class C misdemeanor.
He is currently scheduled to appear in court for an initial hearing on April 30.
