Rural Bloomfield woman facing charges of OVWI
/A woman who crashed into a bridge guard rail and was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated in August of 2018, is now facing new charges of OVWI after her truck wound up in a ditch.
Kelly Anne Thompson, 45, rural Bloomfield, was arrested then booked in to the Greene County Jail around 12:03 a.m. on Tuesday, September 24, by Deputy Sgt. Bobby Pierce of the Greene County Sheriff’s Department.
Sgt. Pierce reported that around 10 p.m. on Monday, September 23, Thompson was the driver of a white 2005 Ford F-150 that was in a ditch in the area of Warren Road and State Road 54.
Pierce said Thompson was in the driver’s seat and was applying the brakes of the vehicle when law enforcement arrived on the scene, admitted she was the driver and that she was driving when it wound up in the ditch. Thompson allegedly said she was attempting to turn around but drove into the ditch.
Sgt. Pierce reported Thompson showed several signs of intoxication and a portable breath test showed she had a BAC of .18. Thompson submitted to a blood draw at Greene County General Hospital – results pending.
Thompson’s bond was set at $8,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed. She posted $800, was released, and is scheduled to appear in court for an initial hearing on October 7.
She is facing charges of:
Operating a vehicle while intoxicated, a Class C misdemeanor
Operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering a person, a Class A misdemeanor,
Operating a vehicle while intoxicated with a prior conviction, a Level 6 felony, and
Operating a vehicle while intoxicated endangering a person with a prior conviction, a Level 6 felony.
