A Switz City man who got most of his sentence for misdemeanor battery suspended this past summer, is back in jail for alleged criminal trespassing at an apartment complex in Switz City.

Christopher Ryan Andis, 20, Switz City, was arrested by Deputy Alan Jackson of the Greene County Sheriff’s Department on Sunday, September 15.

Deputy Jackson was dispatched to apartments in Switz City on the report that Andis was on the premises but was not supposed to be there because he was trespassed from the property in August. GCSD Deputy David Elmore also responded to assist.

Deputy Jackson reported that when Andis was located inside an apartment, he admitted he knew he was trespassed from the complex.

Andis was taken into custody, transported and booked in around 6:44 p.m. to the Greene County Jail where his bond was set at $1,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed.

Andis is scheduled to be in court next Monday to be formally charged with criminal trespassing, a Class A misdemeanor.

In a previous case, Andis was convicted of battery, a Class B misdemeanor, on June 5 and was sentenced to 180 days in the county jail. He was given credit for 15 days already served. With good time credit, that would be 30 days served and the remaining time of 150 days was suspended.

Andis would have been on probation at the time of his most recent arrest and today, Thursday, September 19, the Greene County Probation Department filed a petition to revoke his suspended sentence.

A warrant was issued for his arrest in that case, but he’s already in jail as he had not yet posted bond in the trespassing case.
