Daniel Wayne Clark, 36, Sullivan, formerly from Linton, was arrested by Indiana Conservation Officer Matthew Vossmer last Sunday afternoon, November 1.

Around 12:30 p.m. last Sunday, ICO Vossmer was on patrol on County Road 1100 West when he came upon a silver Buick Century parked in the roadway on the south side of the Black Creek Bridge. He parked and walked along Black Creek east toward the Goose Pond Fish and Wildlife property and then found a man and woman fishing near the water’s edge. They had numerous fishing poles with lines out. The man was later identified as Clark.

When Clark noticed the officer, he allegedly grabbed something and tried to place it out of sight beside his leg. The officer saw a mason jar with a closed lid on the ground. He said the jar had water and a long, thick, plastic straw sticking out of a hole drilled in the lid. The straw was about 12 inches long and went to the bottom of the jar. There was another hole drilled in the lid with a silicon spark plug cover attached to the straw before the straw met the water inside the jar. Officer Vossmer said he recognized this jar to be a homemade smoking device used to ingest drugs by smoking.

Clark was found to be in possession of several other items including a glass smoking device in a pocket, a silicon canister with a white crystal-like shard, a digital scale, another glass smoking device, and two small plastic bags, both containing a white crystal substance.

Clark was transported to the Greene County Jail where he was booked in at 2:11 p.m.

When Clark appeared in Greene Superior Court yesterday, Thursday, November 5, he was charged with possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony, and possession of paraphernalia, a Class C misdemeanor.

Clark’s bond has been set at $25,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed. As of late Friday, he had not yet posted bond and was still in jail.
