When deputies arrived Wednesday to arrest a Lyons man wanted on a warrant from another county, they reported finding drugs and paraphernalia. Now he’s facing new charges in Greene County.
Michael Pemberton
Michael L. Pemberton, 40, Lyons, was arrested by Deputy Devan Goad of the Greene County Sheriff’s Department on Wednesday, November 4.
Pemberton was wanted on a warrant for his arrest issued out of Morgan County on a probation violation and on Wednesday, several deputies went to Pemberton’s residence on Walnut Street in Lyons to serve the warrant.
When Deputy Devan Goad, the investigating officer, arrived with GCSD Sgt. Bobby Pierce and Deputies Alan Jackson and Davis Aerne and Reserve Deputy J. Glutch, a man answered the back door and deputies entered, located Pemberton, handcuffed him and transported to the Greene County Jail.
Deputy Goad reported that when deputies entered the house, they could smell the odor of marijuana and the man who answered the door gave consent for them to search the residence.
