Sasha Nichole Vincent, 33, and Shyler Dale Vincent, 35, were arrested March 17. Sasha faces charges of possession of methamphetamine—less than 5 grams with enhancing circumstances—and possession of paraphernalia. Shyler faces a charge of unlawful possession of a firearm by a domestic batterer.

According to a probable cause affidavit written by Greene County Sheriff’s Deputy Zach Goad, the search warrant was carried out March 5 with assistance from White River Valley School Corporation Resource Officers Jim O’Malley and Brittany Ingram. The warrant authorized the seizure of all cell phones belonging to the Vincents.

When officers arrived, Shyler was presented with a copy of the search warrant and agreed to retrieve the cell phones. Because Shyler is on probation in Greene County, officers also searched the bedroom he shares with Sasha.

During the search, Goad located an AR-style rifle hanging on the wall above the bed. According to the affidavit, the rifle was not chambered but had a magazine inserted with 16 live rounds. A scope was also attached. Shyler is prohibited from possessing firearms due to a domestic battery conviction in December 2020. A box containing 20 live rounds and another box containing 20 spent rounds were also found.

Elsewhere during the search, Officer Ingram located three smoking devices commonly used for marijuana. Sasha allegedly admitted the items belonged to her.

A small plastic bag containing a white powder residue was also found. Officers field-tested the substance, but it did not return a positive result. Sasha claimed it was a crushed prescription medication she snorted because she cannot take pills. Another bag containing a white crystal-like substance was found in her pocket. Like the first, it initially did not test positive.

According to the affidavit, Sasha later told Goad and Ingram that she had seen the bag—recovered from her pocket—on a table in the bedroom. She said she used to use methamphetamine and suspected the bag was old.

On March 8, Goad conducted a second field test on the substance, which returned a presumptive positive result for methamphetamine. The substance was then sent to the Indiana State Police Laboratory for further analysis.

Sasha Vincent is scheduled to appear in Greene Superior Court for an initial hearing on March 24. Shyler Vincent is scheduled for an initial hearing on April 14.
