Norman Alan Muse II, 41, of Linton, was arrested on Tuesday, June 25, by Det. Paul Clark of the Linton Police Department following Det. Clark’s investigation into a domestic incident that occurred that day at Muse’s apartment on 3rd St. NW in Linton.

Police were called to the apartment around 2:30 a.m. after Muse’s girlfriend had run from the apartment without her belongings in an effort to get away from Muse. She had spent the night at the apartment but while there, the two had gotten into a disagreement over “fidelity issues.”

When the woman was interviewed, she said the argument had escalated and she wanted to leave but when she started gathering her belongings, he pushed her back, shoved her down then blocked a doorway with his body so she could not leave.

She allegedly told Det. Clark that he also grabbed and held onto her face and Det. Clark reported the sides of her face were red and purple.

When this was happening. a neighbor heard the ruckus and went to the apartment to intervene. When Det. Clark interviewed the neighbor, the neighbor said she heard Muse yell that he was going to kill the woman and when she got to the door of his apartment, it was open and Muse was blocking the doorway, refusing to let the woman leave.

After the neighbor intervened, the woman was able to get out of the apartment and then Muse allegedly threw things that belonged to her out the front door, except for her purse and her cell phone.

When Det. Clark interviewed Muse later in the morning, he also said they’d been in an argument over the same issues but he denied blocking the doorway. Clark said when Muse was asked about the woman’s property, he refused to give it to her, claiming if he was going to jail, she didn’t need it.

Muse did go to jail and Det. Clark got a search warrant to look for her belongings. He reported that when executed, he located the woman’s purse, wallet, mobile phone and other personal belongings including her debit cards and identification.

When Muse appeared in Greene Superior Court for an initial hearing last Thursday, he was charged with:

  • Criminal confinement with bodily injury, a Level 5 felony.

  • Intimidation where threat is to commit forcible felony, a Level 6 felony.

  • Battery resulting in bodily injury, a Class A misdemeanor.

  • Theft, a Class A misdemeanor.

Muse is still in the Greene County Jail where he’s being held in lieu of a $15,000 surety bond with ten percent cash allowed.

Muse has another case pending against him. In late March of 2018, when he was 40 and had a home address in Worthington, he was arrested by Deputy Marshal Russell Walls of the Worthington Police Department.

He was charged then convicted of possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony. He was sentenced to 2.5 years but two years were suspended leaving him six months to serve. He was given credit for six days already served and allowed to serve his time on work release.

However, he violated a condition of work release and then served the remainder of his time in jail.

At the time of his latest arrest, he was on probation and shortly after the arrest, a petition was filed to revoke his suspended sentence.
