Patrick Randal Sherrard was arrested by Linton Police Officer Janzen Franklin on charges of domestic battery, intimidation, and resisting law enforcement.

Franklin responded to a call regarding a battery at the Vault in Linton. Upon arrival, Franklin spoke with the victim who said she and Sherrard had broken up. While at the American Legion Post No. 22, she said, Sherrard had caused a scene. According to the probable cause, the victim said Sherrard struck her in the back multiple times and cursed at her when she came into the Vault.

A witness told Franklin Sherrad entered the Vault, attempted to order a drink, and struck the victim in the back twice. Sherrard, according to the witness, was asked to leave the establishment. The witness said he tried to return to the establishment but was stopped at the door.

Franklin located Sherrard outside the Legion. Sherrard alleged he and his girlfriend were having problems. When asked to converse with Franklin, Sherrard alleged he could not because he could not comprehend.

When attempting to place Sherrad under arrest, according to the probable cause affidavit, he pulled away and resisted officers. Sherrard continued to pull away from officers and when finally in handcuffs said “I’ll f*** you up” to Franklin.

He was transported to Grenne County Jail where his bond was set at $6,000 surety with 10% allowed. He was released later the same day after posting $600.

He faces charges of:

  • Domestic battery, a Class A Misdemeanor

  • Intimidation, a Level 6 Felony

  • Resisting Law Enforcement, a Class A Misdemeanor
