Bloomfield woman arrested on methamphetamine, marijuana charges following vehicle search

A 65-year-old Bloomfield woman was arrested June 7 after police allegedly discovered methamphetamine, marijuana and multiple items of drug paraphernalia inside her vehicle.

Carri Lynn Glidden faces preliminary charges of possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony; possession of marijuana, a Class B misdemeanor; and possession of paraphernalia, a Class C misdemeanor.

According to a probable cause affidavit written by Jordan Brant of the Bloomfield Police Department, officers were dispatched to the Pizza Hut Apartments, located at 694 S. U.S. Highway 231, at approximately 9:27 p.m. following a complaint about a woman allegedly living out of a blue Kia Sorento and causing a disturbance in the area.

Upon arrival, Brant located Glidden sitting in the driver's seat of the vehicle.

According to court documents, while speaking with Glidden, Brant observed a glass smoking device containing white residue in plain view behind the steering wheel. Based on his training and experience, he believed the device was commonly used to ingest controlled substances.

After being advised of her Miranda rights, Glidden denied knowledge of the device. When asked for consent to search the vehicle, she declined and requested officers obtain a search warrant, according to the affidavit.

Police obtained a search warrant from Greene Superior Court Judge Dena Martin and executed the search approximately 20 minutes later.

During the search, officers reportedly recovered multiple smoking devices, a grinder containing suspected marijuana residue, rolling papers, containers labeled as cannabis products, several hand-rolled items containing burnt leafy material and a mason jar containing a green leafy substance.

Investigators also located a purse containing a small pouch with a red straw, a broken blue pill, a rolled-up plastic bag, and a second baggie containing a white substance believed to be methamphetamine.

According to court documents, officers also recovered additional smoking devices from the vehicle, including one located inside the glove compartment.

The suspected methamphetamine was field-tested and allegedly produced a positive result for methamphetamine.

Police said several of the recovered items emitted odors commonly associated with marijuana, and officers noted that some of the cannabis-labeled products appeared to contain THC levels exceeding legal hemp thresholds.

Glidden was transported to the Greene County Jail where she was held without bond. She is scheduled to appear June 9 for an initial hearing.
