Kevin Michael Wolfe, 41, Bloomfield, was sentenced in Greene Circuit Court last Monday, March 15, with Judge Erik Allen presiding.

Wolfe was arrested on July 10 by GCSD Deputy Camron Frye and charged with one count of burglary – a Level 5 felony, and two counts of theft – both Level 6 felonies. He posted bond and was released from jail.

In late October, Wolfe was arrested again, this time charged with felony possession of methamphetamine and possession of a syringe, and misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia and possession of marijuana. Wolfe has remained in jail since the October arrest.

By early February, Wolfe had entered into a negotiated plea agreement and agreed to change his plea to guilty of the one count of burglary, a Level 5 felony. The other two counts of theft were dismissed along with the drug case.

During the change of plea and sentencing hearing, sentencing was not left up to the discretion of the judge in this case. The terms of the sentence were fixed by the negotiated plea agreement and the court was bound by its terms.

Wolfe was sentenced to a term of four years in the Indiana Department of Corrections (DOC) with one year suspended. He was given credit for 142 days already served at that time and he will be allowed good-time credit if eligible. After he serves his time, Wolfe will be on supervised probation for one year. If eligible, Wolfe may participate in the Recovery While Incarcerated Program while in DOC and upon completion, he may file for a modification to be able to serve in Greene County’s Work Release Program.
