William Joseph “Joe” Watson, Jr., age 76, of Linton, passed away at 10:42 pm on Saturday, August 14, 2021, at Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care in Terre Haute. He was born in Fairfield, IL on December 29, 1944, the son of William Joseph, Sr. & Mildred (Haegele) Watson.

He was a 1964 graduate of Linton High School. He worked for several years at IBM in the computer maintenance department. After that he worked as a bartender at Harley”s Tavern for several years then worked as a plumber.

Joe is survived by his children, Karl (Diane) Watson of Frankfort, Valerie (James) Scott of Forest, David (Eileen) Watson of Lizton and Jay (Leigh) Watson of Wabash; 16 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; sister, Mildred (Wendell) Angleton of Linton and brother, Jack (Jean) Watson of Springfield, GA.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister Virginia Padgett.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton.
