Clarence Marvin Ratliff of Worthington passed away at his home August 14, 2021. He was born July 4, 1935 in Monroe County to Lee and Lilly (Freeman) Ratliff.

A graduate of Bloomington High School, Clarence married his high school sweetheart Mary Katheryn Speer on May 19, 1956. They were married 65 years. Clarence served in the US Army during the late 1950s at Fort Sam Houston near San Antonio, Texas and at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama. He was a member of the Ellettsville Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Clarence worked at RCA before working for Otis Elevator for 33 years. He received an associate degree in Accounting from Ivy Tech in Bloomington and served as Accountant Treasurer for International Union Electric 13 years. He enjoyed reading and working on projects in his workshop. After retirement, Clarence enjoyed eating out for breakfast once a month with buddies from work.

Survivors include his wife, Katheryn, and two sons: Keith Jeffrey (Helen) Ratliff, and their two children Chad (Belinda) Myers, Carissa Myers, and their grandchildren Samara, Lacy and Paxton all from Australia; Karl David (Gina) Ratliff, and their four children David (Anna), Jonathan, Abigail and Michael from Piketon, Ohio; one sister Rosalee (Ratliff) Kent of Fredericksburg, Texas; two brothers-in-law Lloyd James (Christal) Speer of Tennessee, Leslie (Patti) Speer of Florida; sister-in-law Char (Rick) Gast of Michigan; a niece and several cousins.

He was predeceased by his parents and a brother Paul Ratliff; sister-in-law Carol (Speer) Sumner; father-in-law Lloyd Chester Speer; and mother-in-law Esther (Brown) Shippy.

The family would like to thank Heart to Heart Hospice for the care and concern shown to Clarence during his illness.
