Thomas “Tom” Baker, age 63, of Linton, passed away peacefully at 5:00 am on Friday, January 14, 2022, at his residence. He was born in Washington, IN on October 17, 1958, the son of Raymond & Edith (Arthur) Baker.

Tom was a 1976 graduate of Eastern Greene High School. He worked as a union carpenter for several years then he worked as a bus driver and maintenance man at Linton Stockton High School for 30 years. He was a member of the Linton Elks Lodge #866 and Bethel Baptist Church in Vicksburg. He enjoyed going to auctions but he especially loved spending time with his grandsons and his family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Cathy (Kinnett) Baker of Linton; son, Ryan (Katie) Baker of Linton; grandsons, Jesse Lloyd Baker and Jaden Thomas Baker; sisters, Mary (Earl) Godsey, Margaret (Robert) Burgess, Patricia (Richard) Stoelting and Pamela (Dennis) Deckard; brothers, Don (Virginia) Baker, Paul (Betty) Baker and Gary (Susan Wilkerson) Baker; sisters-in-law, Grace Trimm Baker Campbell, Cheryll Hall and Hannah (David) Helman; father-in-law, Larry (Connie) Kinnett as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Raymond Baker; brother-in-law, Chuck Hall and mother-in-law, Loretta Kinnett.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am at Bethel Baptist Church in Vicksburg on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 with Pastor Doug Cassel officiating. Burial will follow at Dugger Cemetery in Dugger.

Visitation will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton on Monday, January 17, 2022 from 4:00-8:00 pm, and at the church on Tuesday from 10:00 am until the time of service.

Memorial contributions may be made to the radio station WYTJ through the funeral home.
