Robert D. "Bob" Johnson

Robert D. “Bob” Johnson, a lifelong resident of Greene County IN, died peacefully on January 16, 2022 at the age of 93. Robert grew up on a farm near Koleen. He was the youngest of 12 children. As a young man he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He then married and raised two daughters.

Robert worked for many years at RCA in the heyday of television production. He also raised Christmas trees for the community and worked behind the scenes at the Shawnee Theatre.

He enjoyed attending auctions and yard sales where he liked chatting with people and telling jokes.

There was nothing more enjoyable for him than driving his pickup truck on the backroads of Greene County as he watched the area grow during his long life.

Robert was preceded in death by Clara Johnson, his wife of 61 years, and all of his siblings.

He is survived by daughters Marcella and Rosalie, many nieces and nephews, his caregivers and friends.

Due to COVID-19 concerns, he was laid to rest at Kentucky Ridge Cemetery, and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
