Shirley Potter

Shirley A. Potter, 81, of Sandborn, IN, passed away peacefully, with her loved ones at her side, on Friday, August 23, 2019 at Loogootee Healthcare and Rehabilitation. She was born on October 29, 1937 in Knoxville, TN, to George and Gertrude Hixson.

On April 5, 1965, Shirley became the wife of Max E. Potter.

Shirley was a homemaker and mother, first and foremost.  She also, worked at the Park Inn Motel in Linton as a housekeeper for 16 years and at the Linton Goody’s store for 10 years.  Shirley was a faithful member of the Sandborn Christian Church. She truly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends; and she especially liked watching her grandchildren play in sporting events.  

Family members left to cherish the memory of Shirley include: a daughter, Debra (Ron) Lane of Odon, and two grandchildren, Braydon Wesner of Newberry and Addyson Wesner of Odon.  

Shirley was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Max Potter; two sisters and one brother.  

Funeral services are scheduled for 12:30 PM on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at the Sandborn Christian Church in Sandborn, with Bryan Sanders officiating. Shirley will be laid to rest in the Sandborn Cemetery.  

Family and friends may call from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Tuesday, August 27, 2019, and Wednesday from 11:00 AM until the hour of service at 12:30 PM at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
