Lowell Sparks

Lowell Sparks, 95, of Bloomfield passed away Tuesday July 17, 2018 at Glenburn Home in Linton. Born September 17, 1922, in Lyons, Indiana the son of Welker and Florence (Nichols) Sparks.

Lowell was a retired mail carrier, he was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII serving in Germany and Italy, Lowell was a member of the Bloomfield United Methodist Church, Bloomfield American Legion Post # 196, Worthington VFW, Bloomfield Masonic Lodge # 84, Scottish Rite in Terre Haute, and the Linton Elks.

Surviving relatives include his wife, Jewell Sparks of Bloomfield, they were married on December 28, 1941 and celebrated 76 years of marriage last December, one daughter, Karen (Joe) Pattinson, one grandson, Mike (Marcella) Pattinson, two great grandchildren, Alexa and Joey Pattinson and lots of loving nieces and nephews.

Lowell was preceded in death by four brothers, Leland, Louis, Glen and Bill Sparks, and his parents.

Friends may call from 11 A.M. on Sunday until the hour of service at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield.

Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Sunday at Jenkins Funeral Home in Bloomfield with Rev. Arlen Pope and Daniel Frye officiating. Burial will follow with Military honors at Grandview Cemetery in Bloomfield.

In lieu of flowers the family wishes donations be made to the Bloomfield United Methodist Church or Charity of one’s choice.
