Leonard Calvert, Jr. 89, of Worthington, went to be with the Lord and Savior on May 21, 2020 at the Golden Living Nursing Home in Bloomington. Leonard was born on November 24, 1930 in Worthington to Leonard Calvert, Sr. and Anna (McAdams) Calvert.

Leonard graduated from Worthington High School in 1949 and then retired from R.C.A. in Bloomington, Indiana. He was a longtime member of Worthington Lions Club, Worthington Ruritan Club and the Worthington Baptist Church.

Leonard is survived by his son, Leonard Dwayne Calvert of Linton, grandson, Brandon and wife Stacy Calvert of Jasonville, two granddaughters, whom he adored, Bralyn Calvert, Kaylee Calvert, and many friends and family.

Leonard was preceded in death by his parents, wife Delores Ann (Wilbur) Calvert, sisters, O'Rilla T. Jackson, Rosemary McKee and Wanda Burch.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Friday, May 29, 2020 at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home, 23 South Jefferson Street, Worthington. Pastor Matt Baker will officiate. Burial will follow in Worthington Cemetery.

Visitation will be 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Thursday, May 28, 2020 and again 10:00 AM until the time of service on Friday, all at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to the Worthington Jefferson Alumni Association through the funeral home.
