Mary E. Shepherd, age 93, of Linton, passed away peacefully at 10:11 P.M. on Wednesday, May 20, 2020, at Glenburn Home in Linton. She was born in Sullivan, IN on November 1, 1926, the daughter of Claude & Gladys (Cleveland) Dozier.

She was a graduate of Sullivan High School and Gradwahl Medical School of Technology. She had worked at several physician's offices in Sullivan and Linton for many years then she worked a few other jobs before she went to teach at Linton-Stockton Elementary School for several years.

Mary was a member of First Baptist Church in Linton and the Delts. She loved playing Bridge with her friends but the highlight of her life was spending time with her beloved grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Claudia (David) Hensley of Linton; son, Hal (Melissa) Shepherd of Linton; grandchildren, Hal Shepherd III, Scott (Amanda) Shepherd, Matthew (Maggie) Hensley, Jonathan Hensley, and Sarah Hensley; great-grandchildren, Adara Katherine Duncan, Hannah Rose Shepherd and Cora Mae Shepherd.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Haldon L. Shepherd on October 27, 2006 and her siblings, Thelma Dozier Roach, Hubert Dozier and Floyd Dozier.

A private funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2020, with Pastor Dave Tyra officiating. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery.
