Larry “Squatsy” Richard Franklin, age 70, of Linton, Indiana passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2023, at his home with his daughters by his side. He was born in Louisville, Kentucky on May 7, 1952, the son of Johnny Mac Franklin and Dorothy Mae Franklin.

Larry worked for the city of Linton for over 34 years in the Gas and Water Department. He retired in 2011. He enjoyed IU basketball, Colts, Kansas City Chiefs football, fishing, riding his motorcycle, and spending time with family. He was a member of the American Legion Post #22.

He was a devoted Christian man and enjoyed leading prayer with family and friends.

He is survived by his children; Kelly (James) Robertson of Linton, Rachel (Robert) Eagans of Linton, Shellie Hauck of Linton, Kristie (Marvin) Hixon of Florida; grandchildren, Dalton Robertson, Jaxson Haynes, Devin Robertson, Levi Elkins, Falisha Hauck, Austin Riggleman, Gracie Riggleman, Shayla Eagans, Abigail Eagans; four great-grandchildren, siblings, Carol Franklin, Greg “Bear” Franklin, Brad “Balloon Head” Franklin, Keith “Buck” Franklin, Mark “Fangs” Franklin, and extended family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers; Gary “Fudd” Franklin, Johnny Don Franklin.

Visitation will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton on Saturday, April 1, 2023, from 11:00 A.M. to 2:00 P.M.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 2:00 P.M.

Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery.
