Kenneth Ray Dailey

Kenneth Ray Dailey, age 86, of Linton, passed away peacefully at Greene County General Hospital on Tuesday, November 8, 2022, with his family by his side. He was born in Switz City, Indiana on January 7, 1936, the son of Owen and Nellie (Kates) Dailey.

Kenny was a 1957 graduate of Switz City High School. He worked at Peabody Coal as a Welder for 42 years.

Kenny enjoyed shooting archery, riding motorcycles, and all types of guns. He loved old country western music, cowboy boots, and everything John Deere. Kenny was known for working on electronics that he did NOT know how to operate and being so full of his meal he didn’t have any more room to eat, but still stopped to get ice cream to “fill in the cracks!” Kenny was always tinkering to make things “just right.”

Kenny would have enjoyed every second with his grandsons; Derek and Henry had he got the chance to know them.

Kenny was a member of the Hi Flyers R.C. Club.

He is survived by his daughter, Lynn Shonk (Tim); sisters; Lucille Jacobs, Linda Haseman, Norma Nolting, two grandsons, Derek Lee and Henry Kohl, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife; Judy Heaton, long time wife; Moya D. (McBride) Dailey, brothers; Alfred Dailey and Ralph Dailey, sister; Leta Allen.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, November 11, 2022, at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 11:00 until the time of the service.

Special thanks to Kelly Gordon, Shauna Kendall and the entire Glenburn Staff. Also, the 3rd floor nurses at Greene County General Hospital for their exceptional care.
