JP Meurer

John Paul Meurer, age 55, of Linton, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 15, 2020, at his residence.  He was born in Terre Haute on October 13, 1964, the son of Paul & Shelby (Padgett) Meurer.  

JP was a 1983 graduate of Linton-Stockton High School.  Following graduation, he served our country in the United States Marine Corp. and then the Army National Guard.  JP worked throughout the years in construction, as a coal miner, owned and operated JP's Fish & More in Linton, and received his certificate from Ivy Tech to become a licensed Massage Therapist, owning and operating at JP's Therapeutic Massage.

He was a member of First Christian Church and Masonic Lodge #560, both of Linton.

JP enjoyed sports, serving years as a radio personality for Linton Miner football, running the clock at football games, and keeping the score board at basket ball games.  He loved being in the woods, spending time walking his dog, and most of all, being with his children.  

He is survived by his parents of Linton, three children, Joshewa D. (Leah) Meurer of Newburgh, Shelsie D. Meurer and Tyler J. Meurer, both of Linton, a sister, Jenny (Terry) Graves of Linton, a nephew, Tate (Tiffany) Graves, and a niece, Kaylee Graves, and his buddy, Blane.  

Visitation will be held from 2:00-7:00 pm at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton on Sunday, January 19, 2020, with Masonic Services at 6:00 P.M., and Monday from 9 A.M. until the time of service.

Funeral service will be held at the Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton at 11:00 A.M. Monday, January 20, 2020, with Archie Ellett officiating. 

Memorial contributions may be made to Linton Miner Football through the funeral home.
