James W. Dyer, age 74, of Jasonville, passed away on Saturday, August 20, 2022, at his residence. He was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on March 28, 1948, the son of Donald Dyer & Mary Margaret (Moss) Eccles.

He worked as a coal miner and was a member of the Worthington American Legion Post 106. He was a proud Army Veteran who served his country in Germany. He liked taking care of his hummingbirds, collecting rocks and spending time with his family.

James is survived by his children, Heather (Matt) Simon, Jane (Tim) Bruner, Kimberly Hoskins and Jason Ault; grandchildren, Madison, Aiden, Morgan, Shawnie, Jared, Dylan, Austin, Tyler, Cameron, Rylee, Justin, Carlee, London, Jason, Jr., Sarah, Kristopher, Jordan and Chase; nephew, Bradley Dyer; great niece and nephew, Steven and MaKrista.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Karen Sue (Denny) Dyer; parents and brother, Larry Dyer.

A celebration of life will be from 11:00-1:00 pm at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton on Saturday, August 27, 2022.
