James "Jim" F. Taylor
/James “Jim” F. Taylor, age 78, of Linton, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones at home on Monday morning, February 28, 2022. He was born in Linton on March 14, 1943, the son of Joseph Franklin & Virginia (Sharp) Taylor.
Jim was a 1961 graduate of Midland High School. He served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. Jim worked as an engineering technician at NSWC Crane.
He was a member of Linton Church of Christ where he served as a Deacon and song leader, Buck Creek Muzzleloaders, and Linton American Legion Post #22.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting, waterskiing, camping, muzzleloaders, his daughters, and watching his grandkids play sports.
Jim is survived by his wife of 58 years, Patricia A. (Wools) Taylor, daughter, Angie (Tim) York of Lyons, grandchildren, James (Kayla) Gardner, Justine Gardner, Kole Gardner, Tyler (Adrian) York, and Dalton York, two great-grandchildren, Keaton and Violet, and a brother, Albert (Mayme) Taylor of Linton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter, Melissa Gardner, a brother, Willis H. Taylor, and a sister, Josephine Stefancik.
Funeral Service will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton at 12 noon Saturday, March 5, 2022, with Brother Pat Kelly officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Chapel Cemetery in Lyons with military graveside rites by the American Legion Post #22.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 10 AM until the time of service.
