Gary L. Mayfield
/Gary L. Mayfield, 78, of Linton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at 3:35 PM at Greene County General Hospital, surrounded by the love of his family.

He was deeply rooted in the Linton community, holding memberships at First Christian Church, American Legion Post #22, and the Moose Lodge. Whether among friends at these organizations or out on the open road, Gary enjoyed life in a way that reflected his independent spirit. His presence, stories, and steady support will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his daughter, Leslie D. (Jon) Cliver; his son, Dan R. (Lisa) Mayfield; grandchildren Laney (Gage) Golish, Chloie D. Mayfield, and Jacob Cliver; eight great-grandchildren; his companion, Karen Zimmerly; and his siblings, Rick (Dorothy) Mayfield, Mike Mayfield, Jean Sexton (Jim Nail), and Thresa (Dave) Bailey.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents; his son, James Brian Mayfield; two brothers, Dale Mayfield and Junior Mayfield; and his great-grandchild, Baby Bushy.
