Fulgencio J. Ragudo, Jr., affectionately known as Fugi, age 79, of Linton, formerly of Terre Haute, born and raised in Maui, Hawaii, passed away peacefully in the home he loved so much in Linton, Indiana on Wednesday, July 8, 2026. Born on February 24, 1947, he was the son of Fulgencio Juan Ragudo, Sr. and Elizabeth (Kuoha) Ragudo.

Fugi graduated from Maui High School in 1966 and soon after answered the call to serve his country in the United States Army, where he was a veteran of the Vietnam War from 1966 to 1969. He carried that same quiet strength and dedication throughout his life.

After spending several years working in Long Beach, California, Fugi made his home in Terre Haute in 1980. He became a familiar and trusted presence at MCL Cafeteria, where he worked for more than four decades before retiring in 2023. Known for his steady routine, gentle spirit, and warm presence, he touched the lives of many through years of loyal service and everyday kindness. He was a man of Catholic faith and found joy in life's simple pleasures, especially the freedom of being on his bike, taking photographs, and enjoying a good meal at The Grill in Linton.

Fugi will be remembered for the love he shared with his family and friends. He is survived his lifelong best friend since eighth grade, Sylvia Moniz, and the Jill (Tucker) Hancock family, who were part of his tight-nit circle of care and companionship. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Those who knew him will remember his easygoing nature, his loyalty, and the way he made others feel welcome.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his partner, Joseph Harrell; his siblings; and more recently by his brother, Larry Ragudo, Sr., and sister, Loraine Navarro.

Fugi's life will be honored with a private service and final resting place at Fairview Cemetery in Linton. Arrangements are being handled with care by Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton, Indiana, of Walton Funeral Service.
