Freddie G. Kinkade, 83, of Linton passed away peacefully on Thursday afternoon at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was always excited to one day meet his Heavenly Father, as he now resides in Heaven. Born on April 4th, 1937 in Central City (Muhlenberg County), Kentucky, he was the son of Deana (Gardner) & Vernie Kinkade. Freddie married his loving wife Genora “June” (Day) Kinkade on November 29th, 1957 and loved to tell everyone it was the best thing that happened to him.

Fred was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend who never met a stranger and greeted everyone with a smile, hug or a tease. Maybe a combo of all three. He loved being in fellowship with others. Fred was a member of Cornerstone Church in Switz City, Indiana and “loved to tell the story” of how the Lord worked in his life and hoped that for others. He ministered to and led many to Christ.

Additionally, he was active with the United Mine Workers of America and was a very hard worker spending his 34-year career with Peabody Coal Company before retiring in 1999. Fred loved a good football or baseball game. He enjoyed traveling to Cubs games with his buddies, Jack Wall and Kenny Bohnert and was an avid fan and attendee of Linton Miner Football. When at home, you would find Fred enjoying time with family and friends on his back-porch swing - maybe even singing a tune.

Fred so enjoyed spending time with, celebrating, and supporting his family. Family left to cherish the memories of Freddie include: his wife, June Kinkade; two daughters, Shelly A. (Roger) Markle and Lisa D. Kinkade, both of Linton; two granddaughters, Jessica Markle of Terre Haute, IN and Ashley Todd of St. Louis, MO; his sister, Anna Boynton; a niece and nephews, David Blake, Ronnie (Kathy) Blake, and Donna (David) Stone; and several other loving family members.

Freddie is preceded in death by his parents, Deana and Vernie Kinkade and his three sisters, Lossie Passano, Ruby Blake, and Ruth Vanover.

Graveside services to honor the life of Freddie will be at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 13, 2020 at Pleasant Grove Cemetery in Lyons with Greg Orman, Jim Sanders and Keith Jones officiating.
