Evelyn Heacox, age 92, of Worthington, passed away peacefully at 11:41 am on Wednesday, July 14, 2021, at Glenburn Home in Linton. She was born in Bloomfield, IN on March 22, 1929, the daughter of Lobbie & Nancy Ann (Eaton) Steele.

She was a homemaker. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and tending to her flowers. She liked watching the birds and squirrels outside her house.

Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Wilhelmina (Lyle) Sloan of Worthington; sons, Robert (Sharron) Heacox and Arthur Heacox of Worthington; grandchildren, Denise Ann Bowen, Jeffery Sloan, Michael Heacox and Chad Heacox as well as several great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert J. Heacox; son, Bruce A. Heacox; brother, Hershel Steele and sister Ruth White.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm at Welch & Cornett Funeral in Worthington on Monday, July 19, 2021. Burial will follow at Worthington Cemetery in Worthington.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Monday from 12:00 Noon until the time of service.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Diabetes Association through the funeral home.
