Donald Gene Phillips, age 82, of Linton, passed away peacefully at 2:40 A.M. on Friday, May 15, 2020, at Glenburn Home in Linton. He was born in Linton, Indiana on February 21, 1938, the son of Ermal & Ethel (Chestnut) Phillips.

Donald was a 1956 graduate of Linton-Stockton High School. He was an United States Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War.

Donald retired from NSWC Crane in 1994 after 25 years of service. He was a member of Linton First Baptist Church. Don enjoyed singing, playing the piano, and karaoke.

He is survived by his sister,Karen (Hal) Gundlach of Sandusky, OH, nephew, Scott (Emily) Campbell of Clermont, FL, and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and good friend, Dorothy Shertzer of Linton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Elden McHolland, Bobby Phillips, Wendell Phillips, and Ermal Phillips, Jr., six sisters, Eleanor Lowe, Hazel Stewart, Violet Hudson, Onieta Duncan, Joan Nemeth, and Priscilla Phillips.

Private graveside service will be held on Tuesday, May 19, 2020, Rev. David Tyra officiating.

Arrangements are in care of Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton.
