Donald “Eugene” Strauser, 83, of Bloomington passed away Thursday April 26, 2018, at his residence. He was born on November 15, 1934, in Greene County, Indiana, to Wilfred A. and Beulah Marie (Turpin) Strauser.

Eugene married the love of his life Kathryn Grace Bailey on November 27, 1954.
Eugene worked for Goheen General Construction and in 1992, retired from the Carpenter’s Local #1664 after thirty years of service. While living in Greene County, he attended the Solsberry United Methodist Church and after moving to Bloomington in recent years, he faithfully attended the Little Union Baptist Church. He also enjoyed attending IU women’s basketball games and IU baseball games. Eugene and Kathryn spent a lot of years going to all their son’s ballgames and in later years they thoroughly enjoyed watching the grandchildren in their sporting or musical events. The only real disagreement Eugene and Kathryn had was if his St. Louis Cardinals or her Cincinnati Reds were the better team.
