Donald Cullison, age 88, of Linton, passed away peacefully at 8:55 pm on Tuesday, June 29, 2021, at his home surrounded by his beloved family. He was born in Linton on April 23, 1933, the son of George & Geneva (Stephens) Cullison.

He worked as a coal miner throughout his life until he retired in 1987. He was a member of the United Mine Workers Association. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, target practicing with his firearms and spending time with his family.

Donald is survived by his loving sons, Mark (Susan) Cullison of Linton and Bryan (Kathy) Cullison, Sr. of Linton; grandchildren, Nikki Jo (Clint) Jerrell, Bryan Lee Cullison, Jr. and Braylin Lee Cullison; great grandchildren, Dylan Lee Jerrell, Bentley Allen Jerrell and Alexus Marie Culison; siblings, Rose (Don) Dwyer, Betty (Leonard) Chambers, George (Debbie) Cullison and Dixie Cullison; sister-in-law, Ruby Cullison and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah "Sally" Cullison; parents and siblings, Bob Cullison, Ted Cullison, Faye West and Dan Cullison as well as his sister-in-law, Donnetta Cullison.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton on July 3, 2021, with Bo Simmons officiating. Burial will follow at Island City Cemetery in Linton.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 am until the time of service.
