New entries on the morning Jail Log at the Greene County Sheriff’s Department on Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2026:

Jan. 19, 3:33 p.m., Athena Nichole Rates, 36, Newburgh, was arrested on a preliminary charge of possession of marijuana. Her bond was set at $500 surety with 10% cash allowed. A bond of $50 was paid. She was also arrested on a warrant for failure to appear. No bond was allowed on this charge.

Jan. 19, 6:57 p.m., Maranda Jean Peyton, 38, Jasonville, was arrested on a preliminary charge of driving while suspended with a prior suspension within 10 years. Her bond was set at $1,000 surety with 10% cash allowed. She was also arrested on a warrant for failure to appear. On that charge, no bond was allowed.

Jan. 20, 2:32 a.m., Kurtis Lee Kennedy, 35, homeless, was arrested on preliminary charges of vehicle theft, resisting law enforcement using a vehicle, and motor vehicle habitual traffic violator. His bond was set at $12,000 surety with 10% cash allowed.
