A Worthington woman was arrested last weekend when she was found inside a store from which she had just been banned a few days earlier.

Justine Elizabeth Gardner, 28, was arrested by Deputy Marshal Russell Walls of the Worthington Police Department on Saturday, July 28.

This arrest makes the third time she’s been arrested in 2018.

Gardner was arrested back in February in an incident that occurred on Linton-Stockton School property. She was charged on Thursday, March 1, in Greene Superior Court with attempted robbery, a Level 5 felony, plus criminal trespassing, a Class A misdemeanor, and two counts of battery, both Class B misdemeanors. In late April, she signed a negotiated plea agreement but at this point, the case is still pending.

Then on July 22, she was arrested and banned from two stores in Worthington after she allegedly tried to enter the back door of one store, tried to break into vehicles at the other and stole an employee’s cell phone. She was charged with theft, a Class A misdemeanor, and criminal trespassing, a Class A misdemeanor. That case is also still pending.

Then last Saturday, she was arrested again and a third criminal case was filed against her.

Officer Walls responded to the Dollar General Store in Worthington when the store contacted police to report Gardner was in the store.

The Dollar General was one of two stores from which she had just been banned and warned by police that she could be charged with trespassing if she returned to these stores.

Officer Walls said when he arrived at the store, around 5 p.m., Gardner was inside the store. She was informed that she was being arrested for trespassing and was handcuffed.

Walls reported that as this was taking place, she called out to her boyfriend who was also in the store. As he walked up, Walls recognized him and knew there were two warrants out for him issued on Writs of Attachment. So he was also taken into custody.

Walls transported both to the Greene County Jail.

In this latest case, Gardner is facing a charge of criminal trespassing, a Class A misdemeanor.

She bonded out of jail and was scheduled to appear in court for an initial hearing yesterday, on Thursday, August 2, but she was a no-show and a warrant was issued for her arrest.
