Worthington man arrested on warrant after allegedly owing over $9,000 in back child support

A Worthington man is facing felony charges after investigators allege he failed to pay thousands of dollars in court-ordered child support.

According to a probable cause affidavit filed July 16 in Greene Superior Court, Justin William Richardson, 41, faces two counts of nonsupport of a dependent child, both Level 6 felonies. A warrant was issued for his arrest on July 17 and executed out on Oct. 9.

Investigators with the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office began reviewing the case after an interview on June 30. The subject told authorities she and Richardson were married in 2003 and divorced in December 2020 after nearly 17 years of marriage. The couple had three children together, two of whom are still minors.

The subject said that following their divorce, Richardson had little involvement in their children’s lives, stating that the children have seen him only a few times since 2020 and that he calls “about every three months.” She said Richardson was once employed with the Laborers’ Union but has not held consistent employment since 2020.

Records show multiple court orders were issued directing Richardson to pay child support. The most recent order, entered April 30, required him to pay $149 per week. Between December 2020 and May 2025, Richardson allegedly failed to provide the required support and accumulated an arrearage of $9,739.15.

Richardson was arrested Oct. 9. He was held on a $3,200 child support purge bond. He was also held on a warrant for two nonsupport of dependent/child violations. On that warrant, his bond was set at $9,740 surety with 10% cash allowed.
