Woman asks deputies to help her look for her lost spice and marijuana
/When deputies responded to a domestic in Bloomfield last Thursday, they found a Switz City woman who was upset because she couldn’t find her spice and marijuana. She asked them to help her look for it.
Jennie Lynn Rupert, 48, Switz City, was arrested by Deputy James Carpenter of the Greene County Sheriff’s Department last Thursday morning, June 17.
After dispatch received a complaint about a threat allegedly made by Rupert at a residence in Bloomfield, Deputy Carpenter, the lead investigator, responded along with GCSD Det. Shawn Cullison and Deputy Terry Wade.
When they arrived, a family member of Rupert’s said Jennie Rupert lives at the sawmill in Switz City but comes to their home to shower, and she had arrived there the night before. The family member said around 4 a.m., Rupert was awake and yelling about how she could not find it. They said Rupert was very loud, was going through drawers and throwing things, saying she was looking for her marijuana. Later in the morning, Rupert allegedly went up to another family member and hit him in the head with a pillow and she also poured tea out on the kitchen floor. The man who was allegedly hit from behind with the pillow confirmed the story.
When Deputy Carpenter talked to Rupert, she allegedly said she was upset because she thought she might have lost her job and that she had been looking for her spice and marijuana. Rupert then asked the deputies if they could help her look for her spice and marijuana and she gave consent for them to enter her room and search.
Deputy Carpenter reported they found a multicolored smoking device in her room. Rupert said it contained spice. It was being sent to an ISP Lab for analysis – results pending.
Rupert was taken into custody and booked into the Greene County Jail at 10:21 a.m. Her bond was set at $1,500 surety with ten percent cash allowed. She posted $150 and was released later the same day.
Rupert is scheduled to appear in Greene Superior Court on July 1. She’s being charged with:
Domestic battery, a Class A misdemeanor, and
Possession of paraphernalia, a Class C misdemeanor.
