Woman accused of violating a protective order and resisting arrest
/An Indianapolis woman, formerly from Worthington, who was arrested during a domestic dispute west of Worthington last year, was arrested last week at the same location for allegedly violating a protective order.
Kimberly Onuska, 56, was arrested by Deputy Camron Frye of the Greene County Sheriff’s Department on Thursday night, March 11. The jail log showed Onuska with a home address in Indianapolis but when she was previously arrested last August, she had a home address in rural Worthington.
There’s a connection between her earlier arrest and her latest arrest – a protective order.
In the earlier arrest, Onuska, then 55, was arrested by GCSD Deputy Alan Jackson on August 18, after her boyfriend said she had choked him, pushed him and was loading a gun during a domestic dispute. The incident took place in a RV park on West State Road 48, west of Worthington.
When she appeared in court, she was charged with domestic battery, a Class A misdemeanor, and she was served with a protective order, ordering her to have no contact with the boyfriend who was the alleged victim. She posted bond and was released. In October, she entered into a pre-trial diversion agreement and the case was continued, basically put on hold, while she completed the program.
A story about the first arrest was posted on GreeneStreets in September and can be found by clicking the Tag below this story for “Kimberly Onuska.”
In the latest case, Onuska is accused of violating the protective order.
Last Thursday, March 11, Deputy Frye was dispatched at 6:45 p.m. to the same location on SR 48 west of Worthington after the man called the sheriff’s department and said he had a protective order against Onuska and that she was inside his residence.
When Deputy Frye arrived, the man (who was the protected person) talked with him outside his camper/trailer, and the deputy found Onuska sitting inside.
When the deputy asked her what she was doing there, Onuska said she lived there. Onuska was reminded of the protective order and informed she was under arrest.
Onuska was not cooperative with being handcuffed, was pulling her arms away and at one point asked to use the restroom. She was told that wasn’t an option at that point. Onuska allegedly continued to attempt to pull away and yelled an obscenity at the deputy.
Onuska was transported to the Greene County Jail where she was booked in at 7:42 p.m. and initially held without bond pending court appearance.
Onuska has now been charged with:
Invasion of privacy in violation of a protective order, a Class A misdemeanor, and
Resisting law enforcement – knowingly or intentionally forcibly resists, a Class A misdemeanor.
During her initial hearing, her bond was set at $10,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed. She has since posted $1,000 and been released from jail.
The previous case is still pending against Onuska and it’s not yet known if the new criminal charges might affect her pre-trial diversion agreement.
