Personnel from multiple agencies responded to a location in the Solsberry area Sunday afternoon where a truck crashed into a home causing extensive damage. One juvenile was in the home and one person was trapped in the truck but no injuries were reported. The driver said the brakes failed. A deputy says an investigation is ongoing.

Sgt. Jordan Allor of the Greene County Sheriff’s Department, the lead investigator, said the crash occurred around 3:15 p.m. on Sunday, January 30, on State Road 43 and Washington Street in Solsberry.

Linda Jordan, 54, Solsberry, was the driver of a 1985 Ford F-350 truck that was northbound on North State Road 43 when the truck left the roadway and crashed into the residence. Mac Jordan, 58, was a passenger in the truck.

Sgt. Allor said one juvenile was inside the home at the time of the crash, but the juvenile was not injured.

Beech Creek Fire Department reported that whey they arrived on scene, they determined one person was entrapped in the truck and firefighters were able to free them from the vehicle. They also reported no injuries were sustained by the juvenile or the occupants of the truck.

According to Sgt. Allor, Jordan said she was headed north when the brakes failed which caused the truck to leave the roadway and hit the house.

Sgt. Allor said the investigation into the crash is ongoing.

In addition to deputies from the sheriff’s department and firefighters from the Beech Creek Fire Department, personnel responding to assist on the scene included Indiana Conservation Officers, the Center-Jackson Fire Territory, the Greene County Ambulance Service, Ken’s Westside Towing and REMC.

Beech Creek Fire expressed thanks to all who responded to assist.
