Three from Jasonville end up in jail after Saturday night traffic stop

When deputies decided to initiate a traffic stop late Saturday night due to a turn signal violation, they discovered none of the car’s three occupants had a valid driver’s license. All three went to jail and two have been charged with possession of methamphetamine.

Tamera Dawn Crosley, 23; Kiley J. Long, 39; and Joshua Cain Brinson, 25; all from Jasonville, were all booked in to the Greene County Jail by Greene County Sheriff’s Det. Shawn Cullison.

Det. Cullison was in a fully marked patrol vehicle with GCSD Sgt. Bobby Pierce headed west on County Road 200 South behind a silver Ford passenger car around 11:35 p.m. Saturday, September 22. When the Ford came to the T-intersection of CR 200 S and State Road 59, it stopped at the stop sign then turned on its left turn signal, then turned it off, then turned on the right signal, then turned right. Cullison said the car failed to signal its intentions to turn right prior to 200 feet before the turn.

The deputies conducted a traffic stop. Brinson was driving. Crosley was in the front passenger seat. Long was in the back seat.

A records check revealed nobody in the car had a valid driver’s license – all were suspended.

When GCSD Deputy Alan Jackson and Jasonville Police Officer Andrew Duguay, along with JPD K9 Blitz, arrived to assist, Blitz performed a free air sniff around the vehicle and alerted to the presence of a controlled substance. All three occupants were asked to exit the car and due to the K9’s positive alert, all three were searched.

Det. Cullison reported a clear plastic bag containing a white crystal substance that field tested positive as methamphetamine was found in Long’s cigarette pack.
