Switz City woman on home detention accused of meth possession
/A Switz City woman on home detention was arrested yesterday after a Greene County Community Corrections Officer reported finding methamphetamine in her home.
Haylee Breanne Keller, 29, Switz City, was arrested by Deputy James Carpenter of the Greene County Sheriff’s Department yesterday afternoon, Thursday, March 18.
Keller was currently on home detention and on Thursday afternoon, Greene County Community Corrections Officer Andrew Johnson was at her residence in Switz City to do a check and search of her home. During the search, Officer Johnson found a plastic cellophane wrapper in Keller’s bedroom that contained a white powder substance. He called the sheriff’s department for assistance.
When Deputy Carpenter was dispatched at 12:45 p.m., he was told Officer Johnson needed assistance and a field-test kit. When he arrived on the scene and field-tested the substance, he reported it showed a positive for methamphetamine.
Keller was taken into custody and transported by Deputy Carpenter to the Greene County Jail where she was booked in at 1:38 p.m.
Earlier today, a criminal case was filed against Keller in Greene Superior Court on a preliminary charge of possession of methamphetamine, a Level 6 felony. The date for her initial hearing has not yet been set but she is being held without bond pending her court appearance.
