Michael Lee Campbell, 44, Bloomfield, was arrested on Monday, January 13, by Greene County Courthouse Security Officer Patrick Fulford.

A warrant was issued for Campbell’s arrest on Tuesday, January 7, on three counts of theft, all as Level 6 felonies.

Campbell was arrested in December, accused of shoplifting numerous items at the Walmart store in Linton. That case is still pending against him.

In the latest case, Campbell is accused of shoplifting numerous items from the same store on three different occasions.

Officer Kyle Robison of the Linton Police Department, the investigating officer, alleges Campbell put a 3500-watt generator into a shopping cart on August 18 and pushed the item out of the store without making payment. The price of the generator was $382.

On November 7, Campbell allegedly picked up three gallons of milk, three boxes of cereal, four packages of fruit cups and multiple condiments plus three boxes of Tylenol, two packages of Pedigree dog food, three sets of bed sheets and pillow cases, bagged all of it at a check-out then left with the items without making payment. In this incident, he allegedly then went back into the store and returned the bed sheets and pillow cases at the service desk in exchange for a shopping card with monetary value. The merchandise in this incident was valued at $353.77.

On November 24, Campbell allegedly entered the store and picked up and concealed on his person three phones, two Fitbit devices, two smart watches, a deli sub sandwich and a bottle of Jack Daniel’s whiskey. He then went through the check-out and paid for a case of Monster energy drinks but did not pay for the other items. The total price of the stolen items in this incident was $2,676.95.

A Walmart Asset Protection Associate provided Officer Robison video surveillance of these incidents and Robison was identified as the subject in each.

Officer Robison noted Campbell’s record includes seven previous convictions for theft or conversion in other counties.

Campbell appeared for his initial hearing on Monday.

His bond was set at $12,000 surety with ten percent cash allowed.
