State Road 246 closed near Clay City for culvert replacement work

CLAY COUNTY, Ind. - The Indiana Department of Transportation announces State Road 246 is closed for culvert replacement work near Clay City.

This project was rescheduled from a previous release. The closure is between W. County Road 850 S. and Co. Rd. 350 W. five-miles west of the S.R. 246 and S.R. 59 intersection. It's expected to reopen after mid-December, weather permitting.

The official detour follows S.R. 159 to S.R. 48 to S.R. 59 and back to S.R. 246.

This project was awarded to E & B Paving LLC for $2.2 million. The project also includes drainage work under State Road 159, State Road 157, State Road 59 and U.S. 231.
